What is Micro-Needling?

Micro-needling (also known as Collagen Induction Therapy or CIT) is a new innovation in aesthetics for the treatment of the appearance of fine lines, acne scars and the skin’s texture, tone and color. During this procedure, the Eclipse Micro-Needling is used to create controlled micro-injuries to the skin in order to aid in the production of collagen and elastin. The skin’s repair process results in a thicker epidermis with a softer appearance of wrinkles. Micro-Needling also creates micro-channels which allow topical gels, creams and serums to be absorbed more effectively, enhancing the effects in deeper layers of the skin. Using a numbing cream to numb the face prior to treatment to help with any discomfort.

What are Growth Factors?

Growth factors are a group of specialised proteins found in many different cell types within the body. They have many functions, with the most important being the activation of cellular renewal. Their job is to turn essential activities within the cell ‘on’ or ‘off’ to help each cell function as it had in its prime. Playing a variety of roles, they help to maintain the skin’s youthful appearance by increasing cell renewal, cell defense, blood circulation and collagen and elastin production.
